Obstetricians & Gynecologists commonly referred to as OB/GYNs; focus on women's health needs before, during, and after pregnancy. They also provide medical and surgical treatment of the female reproductive and urinary systems.
The Women's Center at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center offers a full host of OB/GYN services, including the Dolly Parton Birthing Center, GYN surgical services, Mammography, Bone Densitometry (for the diagnosis of Osteoporosis), and Sterotactic and Mammotome Breast Biopsies (a non-surgical biopsy used to determine whether an abnormal finding in the breast is benign or malignant).
