Volunteer Opportunities at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center
A highly dedicated group of men, women and young people are the heart of our volunteer program. These caring individuals contribute their time and talents to assist the hospital staff with needed tasks at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center in the following areas:
- Nursing Units
- Gift Shop
- Thrift Shop
- Front Desk
- Nursing Home
- Outpatient Surgery
- Physical Therapy
- Emergency Department
- Fundraising events
Volunteer benefits include:
- A free meal for every 4 hours worked
- Free annual Flu shot
- Free annual TB skin test
- 10% gift shop discount
- Two annual luncheon celebrations
The Volunteers are actively involved in fundraising projects for our Scholarship Fund that assists students wishing to pursue a medical career; and for our new hospital that should be completed by the end of 2009.
Other current fundraising projects include:
- Ongoing sale of 2nd Edition of Volunteer’s Cookbook, “Food for Body and Soul”
- September 1, 2008, Smoky Mountain Pet of the Year Calendar available for sale
- Various vendors present specialty sales to benefit the Volunteers in the Medical Center throughout the year
